How can I make myself better each day? – by Anangsha Alammyan

  1. Stop Procrastinating : Since you’re striving to make yourself better each day, I’m sure this would be the first thing on your To-Do list.
  2. Set goals for yourself : Set some short term goals, and make it absolutely certain that you finish them off before going to bed at night. Example : ‘I’ll solve at least 50 sums today.’ or ‘I have to perfect that new Raga sir taught at school.’
  3. Don’t lose sight of your dreams : It’s very easy to get disheartened, or slacken your pace a bit if things don’t seem to be going your way. Please don’t do that. Remember with what you had started out on this journey, and where you need to reach. Things will fall into place automatically if you keep this in mind.
  4. Don’t be alone on this quest : Take the help from your best friend, or a close family member who knows you inside out. So that they can be by your side if you lose hope, and keep reminding you that better days will come if you work hard enough for it.
  5. Maintain a Smile Diary : Write in it before sleeping at night – what you did during the day that made another person smile – it could be close friend, the waiter at your favourite restaurant, or even a complete stranger. Make at least one person smile each day, and watch it become a habit. Very soon you won’t even be needing to write in all the memories and helping others would become second nature to you.
  6. Don’t hold grudges : People will hurt you. Period. Hating them, or holding grudges would never help you, or harm them in any way. Stop seeking revenge, forget and move on with a smile on your face. Karma will look after the rest for you.
  7. It’s okay to make mistakes : We are human beings after all, and as it has been rightly said – ‘to err is human’. All that matters is that you learn something from the past, and never repeat the same mistakes again.
